Plan Your Visit
We Look Forward to Welcoming You
Visiting a church for the first time can feel unfamiliar, but planning your visit does not have to be complicated. Here is what you need to know before joining us for worship at Franklin United Methodist Church.
Whether you are searching for a church home, returning to church after time away, or simply interested in learning more about Franklin, you are welcome here.
Sunday Worship
Worship begins at 11:00 a.m.
Our services generally last between 90 minutes and two hours. Most people begin arriving around 10:30 a.m., giving them time to park, enter the church, find a seat, and greet others before worship begins.

Parking and Entrances
Parking is available around the church, and you may enter the building through any of our three entrances:
Main entrance: Located at the front of the church and opens into the narthex.
Accessible side entrance: Located on the right side of the church near the accessible parking spaces.
Fellowship hall entrance: Located at the back of the church and accessible from the rear and right portions of the parking lot.
If you are unsure which entrance to use, the main entrance at the front of the church is a good place to begin.
Accessibility
Two accessible ramps provide entry into the church:
One is located on the right side of the building near the accessible parking spaces.
The other is located at the rear of the church and enters through the fellowship hall.
Please contact us before your visit if you have questions about accessibility or would like assistance when you arrive.
Communion
What Should I Wear?
You will see church attire as well as dressy-casual clothing at Franklin, but there is no requirement to dress a particular way.
Come in whatever allows you to feel comfortable and ready to worship. You are welcome just as you are.
What Is Worship Like?
Worship at Franklin is joyful, reverent, and participatory. A typical service may include:
Greetings and announcements
Praise and worship
Congregational hymns
Prayer
Music from the choir
The offering
Scripture readings
The sermon
An invitation to Christian discipleship or altar prayer
The benediction
At certain points in the service, the congregation is invited to stand, including during the offertory, Scripture readings, hymn of preparation, and benediction. Please stand only as you are able.
During praise and worship, the pastor may occasionally invite members of the congregation to share testimonies.
You do not need to know the songs, responses, or traditions in advance. Follow along as you feel comfortable and allow yourself to experience worship at your own pace.
We ordinarily celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month.
If you are visiting on a Communion Sunday, an usher or worship leader can help you understand how Communion is received at Franklin.
Bringing Children
Children are always welcome in worship with their families.
Please be aware that Franklin does not currently offer a nursery, childcare, or a separate children’s church during the 11:00 a.m. service.
Children’s Sunday school is offered at 10:00 a.m. on the third Sunday of each month.
When You Arrive
You are welcome to take a seat wherever you feel comfortable. Our members will be glad to greet you and help if you have questions.
You are not expected to know exactly what to do. When the congregation is invited to stand, sing, pray, or participate in another part of worship, simply join in as you feel comfortable.
